Satisfying Saturday, June 7 !

Morning Ladies! I just thought of on word that described how I was feeling this am...Satisfied! I have to report that I did not eat anything during the night, nor did I have anything unhealthy at all yesterday!!!
Desk~ Yes, they are actually with the crystal light mix in powder things. You can get the Lemon, or berry(berry is my fav!) and I am kinda an el cheapo, I refill my own bottles then pour the flavor in them over and over again(washing the bottle every time though!). Bottle water got very expensive with all 4 of us drinking it so we bought one of those filters that go on our sink, put our initial on the cap, and wahla, H2O! Oh, the only place I could find the Propel mix-in at first was Wal-Mart, now they have them at the Food Lion near my house, just look for them near all the other water mixers, Kool-aid, and gatoraid stuff in the store.
Lynn~ My DMIL was having a HORRIBLE time being stressed out (my DFIL has cardiomyothopy) hot flashes EVERY 30 mins, night sweats, you name it, well her Dr put her of Eff. and she has been feeling better!! Hot flashes have calmed some, sleeps great and all! It didn't start "working" until her dose was upped though, so give it time! Glad your weight has maintained!!!!
ALL OTHER BESTERS~ Hi, will address everyone else later!!

Ok I'll be back afterwhile, I have to get off to Lowes for a bathroom project! HUGGGGGSSS!

Satisfying Saturday, June 7 !

Hi everyone, hope it's a great day where you are! I'm set to with Cooper and then mow the yard, then see what's required next. So far have only had a big chunk of cantalope, not any water yet, but will mix up some stuff in a quart bottle and work on that before I start to mow.

Chasity, thanks for the tips. I used to have a filter on our sink too, had rigged up a series of filters to handle chlorine residuals and metals, then it kind of broke and DH LT went whenever he had to work on it (he wouldn't let me do anything with it) so we removed it. And in those days I used to use one of those giant "sipper" containers, those big fat bottles with a screw top and giant straw attached. In those days I carried three to work, and drank them all during the day. I wonder why I stopped? I think my sippers were getting too old! I do hate to go to Wal-Mart so will wait until I am awake at 4 or 5 am one Sunday and sneak in before the crowds.

Off to and mow and sweat. Have a wonderful day, my BEST friends!

Satisfying Saturday, June 7 !

Hi BEST friends DH, I and the pooches are planted out here in the very back of our yard under a nice Maple tree. The breeze in blowing giving us a very comfortable day Took my pooches for their nail clipping already this am. The place is so reasonable for this area! $5.00 per dog. Now I hope to take it easy around the yard, maybe enjoying the pool sometimes it's pleasnt to have no specific plans. Probably do our in the evening.

Well, friends, have a nice day. I'm excited to see my wireless internet carries way to the back of our yard, and to see the shade is good enough to see my screen lunch was crackers carrots and cheese...not too bad!!! see everyone later and nice to meet you "Sillydays" I hope I got your name right, is it Lori? Anyway, Welcome!!

Hi again, finished mowing, or went as far as I could when the self-propelled cord broke, Since I'd saved the hill for last, and it's steep enough that I need the self-propel (that's not the right term, is it?) option so I left it for another time. My pedometer apparently got folded up in my waistband (those of you apple shapes probably know of what I speak) and it didn't record any of my mowing, even though I know it was about a mile.

Off to my parents, probably have to bring Cooper along since he's afraid of the thunder that's in the distance, poor guy. If (when) we get my parents another dog, then poor lonely Cooper will stay home again.
Those of you with pools, enjoy yourselves!

Satisfying Saturday, June 7 !

Chasity, Desk, Nanno and all who follow.
Looks like many BESTERS arebusy this Saturday; hope they are enjoying themselves. Only been outside to fill the birdfeeders and bird bath; it's suppose to reach the mid 90's so the water might really be welcomed. May go to the pool but after 3, my dermatologist cautioned to stay out of the sun btw 10-3 to avoid further skin cancers.
Chastity- for eating healthy all yesterday.
Desk- glad re the good check-up. Re mowing, I would leave the hilly parts to my DH at our former home-but they were real hilly, no real hills here.
(Nancy- wow, if one can have pasta with those pills, I may just try them but will wait and see how you do. glad you enjoyed those golf lessons.
Lynn - hope the effexor helps relieve stress. good going on weight management.
PJ- contracting jobs, seems like million of things can go wrong, unavoidabledelays; often occur and viola for some of us - stress eating. I'm dreading and have delayed too long having our home painted and porch repaired.
Julie- looks like you're now stocked up on plenty healthy foods.
Nanno-it sounds so pleasant being under that Maple tree. making me want to take my lawn chair and do under our Walnut tree. 5 bucks for nail clipping, it's 15 dollars a dog here in the countryside and I thought that was a bargain!
Wishing all a very satisfying and OP weekend.

Satisfying Saturday, June 7 !

Hi Everybody!

Later than usual, but earlier than last night...time is flying around here!! We were up early today and went to my parents' for the usual cleaning (my job) and repair/touch ups (the guys' job). Scorching hot here, so we delayed working on our own house until it cooled a bit. Parents are getting anxious about the move, so more worries. Keep telling myself that things will be resolved as they are "meant to be", but that's not stopping my headache. LOL Just life.

Food was so so...visits with my parents are never OP (Mom's a baker), but I've been good since we got home. Saturday night is pizza night, but I've got the OP version down pat. No problems there.

Nancy...LOVE hearing about the golf! Oh, how I hope it works out for you. Everyone I know golfs...well, that's not exactly true, but it sure seems like it. Looks like fun!

Desk...I'm so excited to hear that you are moving forward with the dog decision. That will be one lucky little fella (or gal)...lots of love and attention! We found out that the kennel where we found our dog is a puppy mill. We suspected it when we were there, and i believe it explains some of the problems we had with his behavior. I always have thought of him as a rescue dog...I wanted him OUT of that place. Very sad.

Nanno...Your afternoon sounded GREAT! You really ARE living my dream!

Chasity...GREAT JOB staying OP!! Satisfied...my idea of heaven!

Ali...Hope DH's trip to Cali went well. You should have stowed away in his suitcase!! A little time away....AHHH

HELLO to Peggie Sue and all who follow!!

Off to put dinner together....Enjoy your evening BEST friends!

Hi Everyone

Was a and day here. I liked last weeks weather better. More moderate temps then.

Morning spent exactly how I did NOT want to spend it. Picking up donated yard sale stuff for DH's lodge breakfast tomorrow. I made him promise he would not do this this year - and what's he do? Tell someone he'd come get it. He is NOT supposed to lift any significant wt until he's 6 mos post op - due to the hugh hernia repair - that leave me to watch him like a prison warden and do the lifting. MEN.........need I say more.

Home to help w/mustang upholstury job for an hour then I convinced him to take a brake and get in the pool. Had a nice hour relaxing on my water lounger. Working a good tan for my Reno trip. I know it's not healty but I can't help feeling better with color in summer.

We planted some pole beans we started. A bit late but will see how they turn out. The lawn is getting dried out but town is asking for voluntary water conservation. My flower beds look great and I refuse to let them go dry.

Desk - we buy ANY brand of the "to go" drink powder. It's handy and I add it to 20 bottles. DH likes them - I think some see too sweet for my palet. They are usually only 5 cal's per serving at most - many being 0 cals. Walmart brand, Crystal Lite, Wylers - usually can get them from 99 cents and up. I refuse to pay more than 1.89 (at Walmart) per box of 10. Better yet - buy the 2 quart packets of Wylers then refill your one bottles with water like PJ? was it? does. Saves even more money.

Bkft: 1egg scrambled w/1 slice monteray jack cheese, hot tea
Lunch: 2oz chicken salad with side tossed salad and lite catalina dsg. Iced tea all day.
Pool snack: 1 oz monteray jack cheese cubes, 6 baby carrotts, 6 trisket crackers - water
Dinner: 1 all beef hot dog on 1 pc of whole grain bread. 1/2 ear of corn on cob.
evening snack - planning on cucumber slices and baby carrotts.

Llyn - I think taking something to help with stress is fine. It could help you a lot while dealing with your health/home/busy life issues. Hopefully some of these things will be temporary (like the house, lol). I say go for it.

I used to take lorazepam. I've been off it for 3 yrs now. It helped me a lot when I needed it back then. I have been giving thought to asking the doc for a new dose (due to wt loss)as I feel like I'm miserable all the time - picking at DH and family. I just feel stressed at times and for no reason? My worry's over dad are in someone elses hands now. I should be much more relaxed? Happier? My appt was changed to September so I'll talk to him then.

Hi's to everyone who posted and those just lurking. Hope all of you are enjoying a lovely weekend. Enjoy, be safe, be happy!

Melissa

P.S. I like Cooper's new photo on your avitar.

Satisfying Saturday, June 7 !

Hi again, last check-in before bedtime I found the Propel at the local grocery story, about 2.89 or so, and I found it at Kmart for something like $3.49. Yuck. If my father likes it, then that's good. It's so hard to get him to drink enough. And he forgets so much, it's painful to watch and I know it's really really hard on my mother. A dog will really help. No news on the poodle yet, though. Still looking around in the meantime.

Tomorrow is my day with Dad, and we have to do all the nails - if only someone did them for $5 but it's our time together.

Oh, Melissa, I have a Rx for Lorazepam and it's been a lifesaver for me during this past year. I only take 1 or 2 a week, sometimes a half helps me sleep through the night, but it's very important when I reach the end of my rope for whatever reason. Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time.
I didn't think my new avatar had uploaded so I gave up. I'm glad it worked, I like seeing him in a more comfortable attitude, hanging out at a dog party from last summer.

Forgive me for not addressing everyone, but I'm thinking of you. Gotta head to bed, as I said above.

I hope to check in tomorrow evening, have a great day tomorrow everyone!

Thanks Desk - I am not having a hard time really. I just notice that some days I'm just plain "*itchy* to DH. Sometimes it's his fault - well most of the time - but others I just can't seem to be "nice"? more even tempered? Maybe it's lack of hormones. Maybe it's a bad habit developing. Maybe it's just he's been home too long. Who knows.

I'll have to appologize to him. He seemed to think I was ragging on him this evening - but I was frustrated with our camera program. I like the new camera but HATE it's software. It doesn't play nicely with anything or any other program and I'm tired of playing around trying to get it to do what I want. He thinks I was blameing him. Well, if only he would have returned the darned thing and got what I wanted...... See? It's not really me.... it's his fault no matter how you look at it. LOL.

Aaah such is life. Always another challenge.
Off to bed - have to be at his lodge at 6:30am to set up for the yard sale then I'm helping serve the pancake breakfast from 7-11. Busy day ahead for us.

Hugs to all,
Melissa
