Hi, I'm so glad I found this site!
Hi! I'm new to this site, and a little scared. To quickly share my story with you, I had a partial hysterectomy 12+ years ago, 6 months after my daughter was born by c-section. Before I found out I was pregnant, I had an abnormal pap, but then I found out I was pregnant and the doctor told me it would be okay to take care of it after I gave birth. After the surgery, he told me I made the right choice because my uterus had been filled with low grade cancerous cells. Fast forward to 2+ years ago, I had a bad pap. The doctor (a new one because my other had retired) told me it wasn't too bad, and to wait 6 months and repeat. It came back bad again, so three months later I had a colposcopy which came back normal. I was advised to wait 6 more months to repeat a pap which came back bad again. This doctor’s office waited 5 months to call me with the results, so I switched doctors again. The first time I went to my new doctor he didn’t have my entire chart yet and thought it would be okay to wait three months for a follow up pap. I went in yesterday thinking it was for this pap, but ended up getting another colposcopy. He said that I have modeled dysplasia around where my uterus used to be and on my cuff. He took several samples and now I get to wait….He said that he thinks it’s stage v1, and that I’ll likely go on 5FU cream. If you can give me any advice, stories of experience, or anything that would help, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much for reading my post.

Hi, I'm so glad I found this site!
 Happilyme,
I'm glad you found us and know you will find the women here very helpful, supportive and willing to share their experiences. I notice you have had to change doctors a lot trust can be so important and hope you have good rapport with this new. BTW and since you said your uterus had cancer cells, and dealing with dysplasia issues now, you may want to consider seeing a gyn/onc if this doctor is not one. The waiting for test results and then deciding the best treatment are foften the most difficult time as once there is a plan of attack, we are moving to eliminate the problem and thus to good health again.
I want to offer you some s and know there are many women with similar dxes who will come along soon and share their knowledge, insights and experiences with you.

Hi, I'm so glad I found this site!
Hello there!
So sorry you're having to deal with all of this, but glad you found this site! You'll find tons of support and info from ladies who know.
I agree you should consider seeing a gyn/onc as they are the experts for us. You'll know much more once you get your biopsy results (Yes, the waiting stinks!), so keep us posted.
Take care!

Hi, I'm so glad I found this site!
Glad you found us here. You are being steered :steer: in the right direction. I too think you should consult w/a gynecological oncologist. This issue of yours has been going on long enough that it's time to get the expert in and put it to rest Just my worth, of course, but I'd go straight to the top for the best advice and treatment to get this over and done with. ....instead of this waiting waiting waiting waiting. Not my favorite thing to do!
Good luck to you....let us know what those results say.

Hi, I'm so glad I found this site!
I hate waiting for those biopsy results! I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with this!
When you say you had a partial hysterectomy, do you mean that you had your uterus removed but left the cervix in (this is called a subtotal hysterectomy), or that you had a total hysterectomy (uterus + cervix), but left your ovaries in? I'm just trying to clarify your exact situation.
We have had a couple of members use 5FU for vaginal dysplasia and you might find their posts by completing a search for that (you'll need 4 characters for the search, so use 5FU*). This is a topical chemo that essentially burns away the abnormal cells. It is used when a large area is involved, versus the laser being used for a smaller more confined area.
I have to agree with the previous women who suggested you might want to see a gynecologic oncologist. They are the experts when it comes to female cancers and precancers and they are extensively trained in the most current surgical and treatment techniques for these conditions.
Good luck! Let us know how those biopsies come back!
