Premarin or Enjuvia anyone ?

Ladies,
I would love to hear your input on your journey with the conjugated type of estrogens (Premarin or Enjuvia). I have spent 2 years trying copious varities of the bio-identical Estradiol as well as the Bi-Est with estradiol and another estrogen - still in hormone hell.

I read another post on here recently about a women who switched to the conjugated type because she never had success with Estradiol - so I'm considering that as well. Never thought I would - always hear so much bad press about it.

Thoughts? Input? Your story?

Thank you!

Lori

Premarin or Enjuvia anyone ?

I was put on Premarin the day after my surgery. I am probably not your best test case since it's only been two weeks but I can tell you that although I had hot flashes immediately following surgery, I have had ZERO symptoms since then.

Premarin or Enjuvia anyone ?

i was put on Premerin .625 8 days after surgery becauses i was experiencing alot of hot flashes.

that was Friday, and i can honestly say, i feel pretty darn good. no hot flashes, my mood has improved, even my libido is kicking in (even if i can't do anything about it.=)

may i ask what conjugated estrogens are?

Premarin or Enjuvia anyone ?

Hi! limited understanding is that conjugated hormones are those that are synthetic and have multiple estrogens in them versus the bio-identical which are natural and most replicate your body's molecular structure. They often contain only Estradiol which is one form of estrogen. I'm no expert, so you might want to google it and find out more data.

Premarin or Enjuvia anyone ?

I was put on premarin 2 days after.(.625) Its been 4 weeks. I think I felt worse before surgery,( for 3 or 4 years) felt in a bad mood alot and just felt hateful. Thats gone now. Not too bothered by hot flashes or sweats.Had a few now & then. I'm having a hard time controlling my emotions since the hyst. cry almost everyday, or laugh and then cry, (about little things) My face broke out for a few weeks. I'm wondering if I have too much or not enough .Going for 4 week check tomorrow. Hopefully will find something out.

Yeah, the crying over little things is usually a sure sign of not enough.

I have to take it twice a day. I would fine in am until about 3 or 4 in afternoon and then would become psycho woman again who sweat all over the place.

Premarin or Enjuvia anyone ?

I was put on Premarin .625 immediately after leaving the hospital (I had had the patch in hospital) and on my 3 week check up, my sister had goosebumps in the room I was sweating my shirt wet with. I've always been more "warm" than the rest of my family, but this was ridiculous!

Dr. upped my dosage to .90, but I still have sweaty days, like today. I think he might have to up it just a little more to finish taking the edge of the heat. Problem is, I'm not sure if it is due to menopause drama, or to the stupid humidity here in Indiana! I should have had my surgery in winter! LOL!

I'm probably not the best person to reply (I'm only 3 wks post-op), but I was put on Enjuvia .45mg upon release from the hospital. I must say...so far, so good!!! No symptoms at all and the only side-effect I've noticed are minor headaches. Going to talk to my doc about that at my appt. in 2 weeks. Best of Luck to all...

Premarin or Enjuvia anyone ?

I have been on Premarin .625 since my surgery. Now Dr switched me to Enjuvia 1.25; not having hot flashes with either medication, but NO SEX DRIVE whatsoever!!! Been taking Enjuvia for about 3 weeks now with Estratest HS for libido (don't notice anything yet).
