pathology reports?

just curious of how long it took for most women to get their pathology reports back?

did your doctor call you, or did you have to wait for a post-op visit?

thanks. <3

pathology reports?

may i ask, if there were any negative results in them?

just trying to find out if they make you wait, no matter what? do they only call if something was found?

pathology reports?

I am not sure but I think most doctors do it like this (I know mine did): If it is a cancer of some sort, there are patholgists that do the first level of checking while you are still under the anesthetic so it can be removed right then. My family knew before I did that I had a slow growing tumor that was treated/removed and that they checked everything and no further evidence of disease. So they know before you leave the operating room the basics. My final report was given to me at my 10 day post op visit to get my staples removed. It didnt tell me anything I did not already know.

pathology reports?

I got mine within a week by calling the hospital & telling them to fax it to me as well as the surgical report which was dictated by the surgeon.

pathology reports?

My doctor told me the results of the pathology reports two days after my surgery, while I was still in the hospital. I had ovarian cysts and uterine polyps, which were thought to be benign. Could that be why the results were received quickly?

pathology reports?

Mine was negative for anything malignant. It indicated in the report that at the time of surgery, he did not see any evidence of malignancy, so like a previous poster said, I think they can get a pretty good idea what's going on during the surgery itself. I would think that if cancer were suspected, your surgeon might have at least indicated to you already that there was some concern. I would think, too, that if anything came back showing cancer, your doc would probably tell you that sooner rather than later at a few weeks post op.

Maybe you could call and ask, just to give yourself peace of mind? If you've heard nothing, it's probably fine but I'm sure your doc wouldn't mind if you called if it would make you feel better!

pathology reports?

thanks ladies. <3

i wasn't really concerned about cancer, but just getting some justification to all the pain i was having.

i was diagnosed with Endo 15 years ago. he said he didn't see any Endo implants, but did remove endometrial tissue that had cut off my left oavry and attached to my bowel. maybe i just had adhesions?
