Is swelly belly hard belly, too?

Hi, ladies!

Ok, whenever I've answered the polls regarding swelly belly, I always checked "no", cause I'm sorta chubby there anyway, and I guess I couldn't tell too much.

However, at 5 weeks post-op, last night my belly was hard and tender (even the upper abs underneath the boob area) and I had to go to bed because it's painful. This morning the hardness was gone, but I noticed that the pants fit tighter this morning.

Am I experiencing swelly belly and not knowing it?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Blessings,

Yes, swelly-belly can get hard, especially in the evening. Have you been taking it easy, and getting lots of rest OFF your feet? That will help.

Listen to your body...you only have one chance to heal properly, verdad?

Of course, always call your Dr if you're concerned.

My very best to you...

Linda

Swelly Belly

I went to the Dr. today for my 3 week post-op. I was scared to get on the scales because I was afraid I had gained a ton of weight. Thankfully my weight was exactly the same as when I went in for surgery. I am one of those that definitely has swelly belly!!!. My Dr. assured me that it was very normal and that I still had several weeks left with my swollen stomach. By the end of the day it is much harder than in the morning. My Dr. recommended for me to take Motrin to help reduce the swelling and of course it meant I really needed to rest much more!!

Sweely- belly....I wish I knew. I am 3 weeks post op two and have lost about 7 pounds but my clothes still fit funny and I don't look any different, other than my legs look thinner. I can attribute this to "Swelly-Belly"! I'm so excited!!!!
