Vitamin E

Has anyone tried using vitamin E oil on their TAH scar? I've heard that it can be helpful, but I'm not sure if I should try it.

I am ... and I'm also taking vitamin E pills ... and my scar is healing very nicely

I have been using it for a bit and it helps .

Hi highlands!

You are much earlier in your recovery than those who have replied. You really need to check with your own doctor to find out if this is something you can do at this point in your recovery. Let us know what your doctor says, okay?

I bought the capsules so that I could put the oil on my scar but it isn't completely healed up yet. I am not planning to put anything on until it is completely healed up. But it would be intersting to know what a doctor had to say about it.

I had a small opening in my incision but at week 2 my doctor recommended using Vit-E for the scar and massaging. Just don't use it on any area's that are open. My scar looks great, still a little sore but overall I am surprised at how far I have come thus far.
