Surgery set for 9-7-2007 also have MS

Hi all, I am so glad I found you. I too have never had surgery, except for my tonsils 40 yrs ago. I am single, no significant other in my life right now. My family is small, a brother and Dad. I am so nervous about this operation. I was to have it on 8-30, but the Dr had to reschedule, my choices were 8-16 or 9-7, so I chickened out and went longer. I also have MS (multiple sclerosis) and wondered if anyone else has it too. Did you have a relapse? Did you take your meds to the hospital with you, or did they have them there?

I keep reading articles on not enind over the first week or two, and keep trying to figure out how my bird will react, she likes to be on my shoulder all the time, but likes to fly too, and ends up on the floor.

What was the most helpful thing you all did to relieve your nerves prior to surgery?

Thanks annodnnyl

Hi,

I don't have MS,so I can't answer that question for you.But your doctor should be able to have your daily medications ordered for you while you are in the hospital.Or they may have you bring yours from home.So I wouldn't worry so much about that part.

I would have your GYN and your doctor treating you for your MS have a conference call maybe,so they are both on the same page.

I don't think your bird will be a big problem, unless it is a very big bird. You just have to get plenty of rest,no lifting, bending etc,for a while.Your GYN should have a pre-op appt with you,and you can go over those concerns then.
