Premarin Cream or Estrace Cream?!

Hi sisters! Have been using Premarin Cream, seems to be working OK. Was wondering about maybe trying Estrace Cream b/c it's bio-identical. Any opinions ladies on this, which one is better/do you prefer? Thank you! Lori

Premarin Cream or Estrace Cream?!

Hi ((((Lori))))))

I'm not using HRT at this point as my GP doesn't believe in it (I'm doing my best to have her see that, at this point in my life, I need something to improve the quality of life that hormonal unbalance is depriving me of ). However, all the reading I've done points to the notion that we're all different and that what works for one may not work for another.

Still, I think it would be worth your while to discuss this with your doctor: he/she would hopefully be in a position to point out the benefits of both and to help you decide which cream would be best for you.

Hopefully, someone will come along who has had experience with both products Best of luck in finding the right balance for you.

Premarin Cream or Estrace Cream?!

Hi Lam923...

I started out on Premarin Cream too and switched to Estrace. I switched for the same reason that you are considering, because it is bioidentical. I like it much better than the Premarin as the Premarin had a tendency to cause burning in me, but the Estrace does not. I use 1/2 a gram every other night vaginally and externally every night and it does the trick as far as dryness. It works well enough to provide adequate lubrication during intercourse. The benefit that I like the most is knowing that the medicine, estradiol made from mexican yams, is the kind of estrogen that my body made naturally whereas the Premarine is synthetic and derived from horse urine.
