Saliva tests VS Blood tests for testosterone level

Any personal feedback on which tests most accurately measure hormone levels? Particularly testosterone right now. I had a salvia test last month-and it came back alarmingly high-a # that seemed impossible. I am going to re test-and wonder if any others have gone thru this. My insurance did not cover the saliva tests-but will cover blood (alth they will re test at no charge due to the #)
Any experiences most appreciated-

My personal preference is to do all hormone tests via bloodwork. Bloodwork is my doctor's choice also. If your saliva test was unusually high, I think it is a good idea to do a second test via bloodwork and compare the results.

My DR and I also prefer to use blood tests, especially for testosterone - both free and total. I've done saliva testing also, but the blood tests seem to better reflect how I feel.

I would suggest researching the difference between testing your saliva vs blood.

There are many factors that can cause elevated levels when testing through saliva-not waiting the proper time between your last dose and collecting your sample for instance. Also what is the delivery method you are currently using?

I was taking progesterone cream and I had my daughter's hormone levels checked via saliva and her progesterone levels were off the charts-I hadn't been careful enough with making sure I didn't have direct contact with things such as door handles or the sink-or even touching her after application even though I'd wash my hands thoroughly.

Just some ideas!
