Pre-Op depression/fatigue? I need a shoulder...
Good morning everyone. I feel like I'm living in state of constant, blah, depression, complete fatigue and I am just so, so sick of it. I'm not usually a complainer but this has knocked it right out of me. I got up yesterday morning for work, showered, washed up a couple of dishes and then just collapsed back into bed. I slept until 3:00 yesterday afternoon. This is the third time this has happened in three weeks, although the other two days have been on Sunday after getting back from church. I cannot explain it other than to say it just wipes me out to do almost anything. Now granted - I do not feel like this everyday (thank heavens) but why is this happening at all? Is it stress over the upcoming surgery? I feel like such a big fat bloated achy mess and I am SO tired of it all. I just cried and cried to my wonderful DH lastnight. God love him, he is so wonderful to me and I am so grateful. Most days I think I'm okay with the surgery and I am trying to keep my focus on a new life with no pain. Then a couple of days ago I actually had the thought of canceling because of some new things/ changes taking place in my office in a couple of weeks. Plus, there are the thoughts that geesh, I feel so bad now, do I actually want to go through more pain next week? Aren't these crazy thoughts?
I just didn't think I'd be going through all this. Is it really just all stress?? Am I not really losing my mind????

Pre-Op depression/fatigue? I need a shoulder...
I had a similar experience before my surgery on June 14th. I am a teacher and was finishing up the school year, which is always very busy and stressful. Add to that my anxiety and fear about my upcoming surgery and you have a recipe for disaster. I was wound up tighter than a drum and emotionally exhausted. I cried a lot and am still crying at times. I think the stress built up before the surgery and my body is still releasing it now. I feel great since the surgery but stress can be a wicked thing to deal with. I would bet that is what is making you feel this way. The stress and anxiety waiting for the surgery date are a real pain but you will feel better once it is over.

Big big
I don't think that you're losing your mind - in fact you sound pretty normal to me. I would go from laughing to crying quickly while waiting for my hyst. Stress can zap me and tired me out like nothing else. My mind works overtime and won't allow me to rest. Maybe that's what is happening to you too
Staying as busy as possible usually helps me. Nice long baths help to relax me also.
in there, not that long to wait now.

Hang in there!!!!! I totally understand how you are feeling, my surgery is in September, due to my schedule. I have good days and bad days, I am way more tired most days than I know I should be. I think what you are going through is completely normal! The good news is soon the pain will be gone!!!!!!!
