I LOVE my drugs...

Ok.. so had my appt w/ the dr again this morning. Didn't tell me much but did give me the ok to make the trip to Ohio at the end of next week as long as I stop every 1-2 hours and stretch. They gave me a copy of my paper to keep me out of work until 8/13.. but when I got home and looked over it I realized they apparently checked the wrong box... says I'm pregnant.... I actually had to chuckle at that (it was laugh or cry) so waiting for them to call me back.. apparently I can't fax my disability people THAT!!! Anyway, I wasn't 10 minutes out of the dr. when I started seeing spots... and ended up with yet another migraine. Stoped my the pharmacy and refilled my percocet again and went ahead and filled the phenagrin he prescribed last week to see if it would actually help the migraine like he said. I'm happy to say it only took about 3 hours to get rid of it.. MUCH better then the 9 hours my other ones were taken!! I hae jus the tiniest hint of a remaining headache but it's not bad at all... so YIPPEE.. I LOVE my drugs... can't wait until I can see the neurologist about them but at least something helped faster!!!

So glad you found something that gives you some relief! Three hours is definately better than nine. I hope they can find out whats going on so you can be totally pain free.

I LOVE my drugs...

phenagrin is an anti-nausea kind of medicine. The dr had said the combination of the 2 usually is good relief for migraines so he wrote the rx last monday and I figured I'd try it when the migraine hit today.. so much better then 9 hours!!! I just can't wait until I see the neurologist and can actually get real migraine meds but that will be awhile b/c the budget it too tight to make all these co-pays right now.

I LOVE my drugs...

I take imitrex for my migraines and have had no problems with it. I also end up taking something for pain along with it. It makes me feel sick at times for a 1/2 hour after taking it but works for me
Donna
P.S. I have developed a love for percoset....

I LOVE my drugs...

I had forgotten this until now, but my GP told me that too little estrogen can cause migrane headaches.

Has anyone else heard this also?

I LOVE my drugs...

I take Maxalt for my migraines along with Promethazine (which I think is the generic) for the upset stomach part. I used to take Imitrex, but the military quite carrying it here... they switched to maxalt... which I was glad, because that's what I was originally on and it seems to work better.... when they get bad enough to go to the ER, I end up with a shot of demerol or dilaudid.

Best of luck w/the neurologist... they have no clue why I get my migraines... been getting them for about 15 years or so now.

Glad you finally got something that helps... I've had this lingering migraine now for about 4 days... just the edge of one... nothing is seeming to help yet... sigh
