swollen belly and wind pain

hi

I am 2 and a half years post op, and still suffering from swelly belly. My tummy is fine in the morning but by evening i look pregnant because of the swelling. Also i have the most chronic wind pains. The pain is exactly the same as just after surgery (TAH) and goes up into my chest area, i usually i have to go and lie down to allow the wind room to move around, but it is really painful. I just wondered if any of you ladies out there were having the same kind of problems.

HI, I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. Since my hyst in 09/01, I've read a number
of posts with the same complaint re: swelly belly. I'm convinced it's not so much the hyst as it might be the surgery/drugs given in the hosp. I had 2 c-sections and never had fat around the middle. Enzymes and HCL seem to help with swelling, and "wind." You might also try probiotics in case you have an overgrowth of intestinal yeast. Hope this helps.
