nipple discharge
Well, I am back but it is about my breast this time.
I had my mammogram last Dec. and they said they wanted me back in six months instead of a year, I ask my doctor if I should worry and she said no.
I had my second one in June and they said everything looked fine but come back in six months. I talked to my doctor about this one and they said I have some fibrocystic nodes and they just want to keep track of them... well, now I have this bloody discharge coming from my left breast and I am scared to death.
I am going to call my doctor first thing tomorrow.

 Lillyrose,
Did you call your doctor? What did the doctor say? I haven't had any bloody discharge, but know I would be concerned if that happened to me.

Thanks Kim for answering...I didn't think that anyone was going to respond.
It has been a long week and I did see the doctor on that same day (Monday) and she sent me over to have blood work done and I had a ultra sound yesterday and I see a surgeon on the 13th.
Everyone has told me not to worry but I am freaking out silently.
It is good to talk to someone and share my feeling right now. My family is so good about things but for some reason I don't feel that I can talk to them about this right now...maybe it is hormonal.
Thanks again for your concern.

nipple discharge
(((Lillyrose))) I had a bloody discharge from one nipple a while back, just once. I am followed very closely because I've had breast cancer previously. My DR referred me to my surgeon immediately. He tried to express more blood but couldn't. He told me that almost all the time, a one-time bloody discharge on one side is from a benign ductal papilloma and is nothing to be concerned about. However, he said that if it happens again, he'll remove just that duct and biopsy it to be sure.
Have you had a mammogram recently? Are you still having the discharge, or was it just once? Good luck with your appointment.
 s,
-Linda

Thanks Linda, yes I have had two mammograms one in Dec. and one this past may.
They only said they were watching because my breast are very dense and fibrocystic and just last week I noticed blood on my nightie and checked to see where it was coming from and it was around the nipple area...that was on Friday.... Monday I was in my doctor office and she did not want to speculate so, she sent me for blood work, ultra sound....which I have had done and I see a surgeon on the 13th.
It has all happen so fast and I am going nuts waiting.
I checked this morning and there is just a small amount coming out but I have to aspirate it out...not like before it just came out.
I just want everything to be normal...you know what I mean?
Thanks for your reply and good wishes.

Please let us know how you make out on the 13th. A bloody nipple discharge is sometimes nothing, but sometimes a concern.
We'll be waiting to hear your GOOD news!

Good News
The Surgeon thinks it is a ductal papilloma and she wants to see me in three months to see if I am still having the discharge.
She said she did not want me to try to see it there was a discharge just see if it comes out on its own and she said she feels comfortable for me to wait three months to re- check.
My mammogram and ultra sound were OK.
Feeling really good about this and I trust my doctor completely.
Thanks for listening to me when I was so worried.
Many blessings

Oh, that's so good to hear! It sounds like you're being followed very closely and that there's nothing to worry about. Our breasts sure are weird sometimes! I'm glad you feel some relief!
