Frustrated

What are bladder spasms? I have no idea what these are what one would feel, but one Dr. keeps telling me I'm probably having bladder spasms. This is the Dr. whom I'm her first complication. Urologist thinks the sling is to tight. I'm FRUSTRATED being caught in the middle of them. Tomorrow I will discuss the urodynamics more in detail with the urologist and have a cystogram. Things are NOT normal but I'm completely at a loss as to what my problem is. It seems everytime I turn around something else is going on.

I spoke to the gyn earlier because when I have to go to the bathroom it is very painful (stinging, burning, hurts) and I almost can't go then I can, but it is far from normal and often I have to self-cath. She is attributing this to bladder spasms?

I'm sure I'll get more answers tomorrow, but for those who have/had bladder spasms what does it fee like, how would I know?

Thank you!

From what you have described it does sound like bladder spasms. Painful like cysitis and you just have to pass urine for the pain to pass. Sometimes its a lot of urine sometimes not. I tend to get bladder spasms when I have catheters in. Im surprised they havent given you any medication for these. My heart goes out to you as the spasms are awful. I will be having a bout of these in the next couple of weeks after my surgery and am not looking forward to them.

Here is what I've told my DH and my doctor that bladder spasms feel like: a tiny, little man inside my bladder pinching the walls every so often and yelling "Ha, ha"!!

I've been recently diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis so spasms are supposedly a normal symptom for this. It is really not any fun though. I certainly can sympathize. My thoughts are with you!
