Question - Enjuvia anyone? Enjuvia anyone?

LAVH with BSO early June, and was placed on Climara patch shortly after surgery. Ripped the thing off after having allergic reaction to the adhesive. Went 3 weeks without any HRT. Needless to say, it wasn't long before my body was depleted of all stores of hormones. I was a mess.
I was placed on Enjuvia .625 a couple of weeks ago and have to say that I haven't seen much improvement. I know I need to give it some time, but I have to return to work soon. I still have insomnia, and horrible mood swings. I literally feel like Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at times...it's awful. I am a pediatric nurse. This is SO not working for me.

I have an appointment with my general practitioner in a few weeks and have recently had my blood drawn so that we can discuss HRT options.

My GYN just placed me on Enjuvia in the meantime, as he said I should follow up with my GP to be followed for HRT now that surgery is over, and my GP can tweak the doseage. In fact, he asked me what I wanted to be on for HRT, if I had a preference, since the climara patch obviously wasn't an option. When I said I didn't then he pulled Enjuvia off his sample shelf...and told me to follow up with my GP.

Anyone have specific questions I should ask my GP...I've read all the articles on the hormone site until I am blue in the face. I am more confused now then ever.
Enjuvia is plant based but it's still synthetic blah, blah blah
I am no scientist! I just want relief from hot flashes, fatigue and mood swings! At least I have not been weepy. Yet.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thumbs down - Enjuvia anyone? Enjuvia anyone?

Hello!

I tried the enjuvia .625 as well. I went on it mainly because it was supposed to be time released (I seem to metabolize all this stuff too quickly). Also, the manufacturer maintains that you need a lesser amount because it is time released.

Well, it didn't work the way it was supposed to. I still ended up needing it twice a day to keep it in my system and I still had the sudden surges and depleted feelings I had before and my hair still was falling out due to the ups and downs of the estrogen in my system.

Not to mention it's so new most insurance companies don't cover it yet! (or so the dr. told me)

So my vote for Enjuvia is a big thumbs down.

Enjuvia anyone?

Wondernurse, I got so tired of all the ups and downs that I got off of everything a couple of weeks ago.

If I go back on anything, it would be something that has a consistent release.

I'm experiencing some joint pain (though it was much worse at first) and now skin sensitivity...but other than that, I feel pretty darn good. So...we'll see.

I'm 50 and had by TVH/BSO last December

Enjuvia anyone?

hey, thanks! I was not going to use a thing after surgery...I was just going to skip it all. That, is not an option at this point!!! I am too mean and nasty. And the hot flashes! Oy!!! I am 42. I thought I could just tough it out. If it weren't for my family having to deal with it too...

thanks again!!!

Enjuvia anyone?

ha, ha, ha

I used to say "if I didn't have to be around people I'd be fine" or "I'm fine until someone talks to me"

But now I am fine...six months ago, I couldn't have done it (I tried), but now it seems my body is OK without it (so far)

Hope you find some relief!
