Hysterectomy Tomorrow, Aug. 6th

I am getting anxious about Tomorrow, I go to the Castle at 10:00 a.m. and surgery around 11:00 a.m. I know I will get thru this, but emotions are out of control!!! I will let you guys know how it all turns out!! DeniseP43

I think we all have felt those pre op jitters, please know you are not alone, we are with you. Hang in there and post when you can!

I report tomorrow at 6 a.m. I'm feeling like the person who thinks parachuting from an airplane is a fine idea until they get up in the air and have to be pushed out of the plane. My SIL just have breast surgery and they made her walk into the operating room. Don't think my legs will carry me.

Can't wait for this to be over.

I just came home on Aug 1 had mine last Tues.. everything will be fine.. I was crying right up until they rolled me in the operating room..biggest chicken yet..soon as they gave the stuff to calm down, I was all set..woke up with lots of cramping, they gave me demerol then a demerol pump and I was all set..day 5 and doing great..off pain meds even made a blueberry cake...very tired but all will go well. you are in our prayers..

Just wanted to let you know we'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Like everyone on here has said, the waiting is the hardest part (Tom Petty sings that too!).

I wasn't nervous, particularly, but when I checked in to Admission, there was a nicely organized routine and someone to take me to the next department, and then pre-op.

It all just kind of clicks together...and I was wheeled to the OR on a stretcher, shifted over to the table, and was chatting with the nurses. Heck, might as well help them have a nice day! :-)

They put the oxygen clip on my finger, I saw the EKG patches they started sticking on my chest, heard a person talking behind me and blinked once or twice...

...and while I was blinking, a voice told me I was in Recovery!!!

It is TOTAL lost time.

I am also heading to the castle at 630am. My surgery is at 10am. This is it ladies. I am nervous as heck and I think I have cleaned about everything I can clean right now. I wish you all gl and best wish for a speedy recovery. I will post when I am able. I will be in hospital for 3days so won't be till I get out. DH and DS and DD will be going with me. I know everything will be fine but boy I sure am scared. TC all and see ya on the post op side.

You are READY and you are going to do GREAT. This has been the worst part... really. Good luck to you. We're all sending our very best wishes and can't wait to hear how well you did!

Right now I am just thinking about all the great drugs that I will be getting. You know the happy juice that gently glides you out and to awake to it being over with. Yeah right, wait until my day is upon me, I am sure that I will be in the same position that you are right now. The dr did tell me that i will be getting antibiotics in my IV and then the stuff that calms you down. My biggest hope is to be completely unware when they put that mask on my face. In the past I remember waking up fighting that thing. I cannot stand for anything over my mouth and nose. That scares me most at this point.
