When will it end-vent, whine-3rd UTI in 7 weeks

Last night I kept waking up to go to the bathroom, which is not the norm. One time I even had to cath and though uh oh we are going backwards in a big way. Then in the morning, the pain, burning, having to go every 5 minutes for just a drop. I started thinking UTI, but then I just had a clean culture on Tuesday, and came off of 1600mg only a week prior. Well, then the telltale sign of blood.

I feel like I'm being bounced between Dr's and no one knows what to do with me. I wanted the Uro to see me, and document since I was just in there on Tuesday, clean culture and they gave me a dose of Bactrim before I left.

They were useless, and didn't even offer to get me in today. The PA at my GP saw me. I was okay with this as I have the big appointment to discuss the Neurologist on Wed, so the culture will be back to let us know if I'm on the right RX.

It definitely showed an infection and they waffled on if it may be going into my kidneys as I had a lowgrade fever and I do have some back pain. I guess this can be common with a cystoscopy test. I find it interesting the last two have come 5 days after testing at the Uro's office.

I'm so stressed, angry, frustrated, and mad by all this. I did go to the Uro's office in person to hand them the consent to have my records released STAT for my appt on Wed. I let them know I wasn't happy and was even more furious when the Uro walked by and said Hi. I'm like WTH don't you know who I am, don't you know I've been trying to get answers from you for 5 days now, you don't call my gyn back. I didn't say any of that, and of course he has no clue, I haven't heard from them at all today.

So, today I start Cipro 500mg for 5X, but will know for sure if that is the correct RX on Wed. I'm so tired of all this and it can't be healthy.

Peyton--

It sounds like you have the right to be upset. I'd be a little mad myself. How frustrating to KEEP having UTI's one after another. Bleck, Ick, and Yuck. NO FAIR. I know it would make me feel like beating my head against a brick wall.

Have you had your GP fax the results over to the URO yet? You might want to ask the GP to let the URO know that it has happened at least twice now and EXACTLY five days after the cystoscopies the URO has given you. (Maybe the GP can even circle the last two in red felt tip pen to get the point across?) Grrr...I know I'd be just too especially since they didn't even want to hear from you when you had a legit infection. You may want to consider going to a different URO since this one doesn't sound all that concerned? I'm a big proponent of DR's who actually listen to you and I've changed them myself for that very reason.

I do hope you get results and action soon and that your infection clears up ASAP.

Sending many, MANY sympathetic {{{HUGS}}} and extra good vibes..........

It is so frustrating to keep going to different doctors and no one really knowing what's going on or how to treat it. I've been having this same problem off and on for over seven years. Right now I am seeing a uro and he is scheduling test, but so far nothing definite and yet I still feel messed up. What are we women to do?

I had my TAH/BSO/TVT-O in July of 2006 - and have had a UTI ever since. (All of my pee tests came back negative for UTI - so I was never treated for a UTI). I didn't bother to see the urologist until July 2007. Why? Because I was scared that something horrible was wrong and I'd need another surgery. The Urologist put me on Cipro (which caused me to get Thrush) - and did the urodynamics test last week, then the cystoscopy this week. He found my urethra was inflammed. He said this was the reason why I had to pee so frequently (including many times during the night). He called my inflammed urethra a "UTI" - (which makes me angry - because I've said that I've had a UTI all along) - and he gave me meds. He says they should help fix everything. I just started them - so it's too soon to tell.

GOOD LUCK WITH ALL OF YOUR TESTS AT THE UROLOGIST!

Since I posted last in this thread (Aug. 9), I've been diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis and have been on meds since Aug. 20. I am doing much better and my bladder is finally calming down. I know I will never be normal again, but at least the meds can help with the symptoms and watching my diet. Don't know what problems or symptoms you may be having, but if tests keep showing no UTI, but you still feel like you have one, then perhaps they should test you for IC. Just a thought.
