Hormones and Headaches

I had my TAH and ovaries removed on July 18. I started estrogen the day after surgery. I've only woken a couple nights right after surgery with night sweats, crying is better but now have started having headaches.

Not sure what is causing them but I've had one consistently everyday for the last 4 days.

Anyone have any ideas? I've tried caffeine, naps, walks, tylenol.....nothing is working.

Take care everyone,

Pat

Hormones and Headaches

Hi blondberg,

I'm sorry you have been feeling so bad. Have you talked to your Dr about the headaches you are having? I don't know if it is hormonal or not, but your would be the best person to diagnose them and provide you with the relief.

I hope you feel better soon.

s,
Kay

Hormones and Headaches

Call you doctor. It could be that your estrogen dosage is not right. I start on vivelle and it gave me headaches. So my doctor switched me to Premarin. I took my self off because I felt I didn't need them because I am not having any hot flashes, etc.

I feel bad for you and hope you can get relief soon. Take care.

testing hormone levels?

I am also having some symptoms which indicate that my estrogen prescription is not getting it done. I know people who say that it took them 3 years before they found something that worked.

Rather than "trying" something else, I am wondering why the doctor does not just do a blood test and check my hormone levels? Maybe it is not that simple?

Hormones and Headaches

Blood test is a good idea. I also heard they can tell from a saliva swab. I see my doctor tomorrow so I am going to ask her. 3 years is an awful long time to find relief. Whew what us women have to go through to find peace of mind.....

I'll let everyone know what I find out.

In the meantime hang in there. There must be some light at the end of the tunnel...

Hormones and Headaches

blondberg - I had a headache too like that, nothing helped, it was constant all day long. My doc. said it was from my estrogen levels too low. He did blood work to see where my dosage needed to be and I've been on this new dosage for about 3 days now - no headaches so far.

I hope you can find an answer soon!
