Is this a hot flash???!!

Ladies -

First let me say that I do have a doctor's appointment Friday.

But, I was just wondering before I go in if anyone feels this same thing?

I've been off everything for 3 full weeks now.

Last Thurs I had this really bad episode and I ended up taking some BP med for it because it scared me so. I was just sitting there mind my own business, when my BP went up to 155/104 ...heart rate 85 (normal for me is 125/82...64). I didn't get hot or anything really, maybe a little warm from the rise in heart rate, but it wouldn't go away for some time. I attributed it to eating too many carbs at one time and have been watching them since.

No problem until late yesterday. I had one more episode right after I ate even tho it wasn't high carb and now today I've had abnout five of them. Being here at work I can't monitor exactly what my heart rate and stuff is, but I'm sure it's high. And I've definitely noticed I get warm afterwards...not like the women across the hall...her hot flashes are very noticeable...just a little too warm.

Is this what hot flashes are like for some poeple? Or is this a panic attack?

Thanks, ladikes.

Hi

I've never taken my BP during a hot flash, so I can't tell you if mine goes up or not I'm glad your going to your Doctor though. He really is the only one who can properly diagnose your symptoms.

I hope he is able to help you feel better. Let us know what he says.

s,
Kay

hot flash

It may be an anxiety attack, yes, it could also be something going on with your heart,if it continues go to the ER! Better safe than sorry I say in this matter! The gals I know that had hot flashes, had real "personal summers" like they were sweating! But they never mentioned any other thing like increase in bp and hr. I really advise you to go to the ER right away..... There will be plenty of doctors there you can ask if this is common with a hot flash, and if it is your heart, you are in the right place. Please don't take this as a joke.
