Continued granulation

My hysterectomy was March 30, 2001 and I have had three follow up visits to my gyno and was treated each time with silver nitrate for granulation. Every time I have had sex, up until the third follow up (week before last) I would bleed some. Now, I am not bleeding but it is painful - which it had not been. Has anyone had a similiar experience and could offer any suggestions? Thanks!

Continued granulation

I don't mean to sound dumb--- but where is the granulation? I assume inside the vaginal cuff. How did the dr see it.with the speculum? I have been inpain since Jan, same spot, i think the cuff isn't healing. Help!!

Continued granulation

Not dumb at all! As I understand it, mine is along the suture line in my vagina where my cervix and uterus were removed. He could see it through an exam with a speculum (spelling?) It is very painful now and I started back spotting again. What fun. Other than this I feel great though.

Continued granulation

I had this as well, but luckily after one treatment with the sliver nitrate the pain was gone....of course I haven't had sex in 6mths as I've suddenly become single, so maybe that's why?

My gyn explained the granulation as scar tissue that builds up, in this case on the outside of the suture line where they sewed us up after removing the cervix.

Best of luck, hope they can solve this for you Faye, let us know what happens
