Yoga Anyone???
I don't do yoga, but do pilates. My doc told me 8 weeks for any exercise..most say 6 weeks though. I walked alot for the first 8 weeks..wasn't too hard to get back to my routine when I hit the 8 week mark.

Yoga Anyone???
Yoga isn't as strenous as Pilates. I know there are streches that can be done without hurting the abdominal area. Was your surgery vag. or abdominal?

Yoga Anyone???
I have not started back with my PIlates workouts which I had been going twice a week for about 2 yrs. I have however started back with my yoga practice once a week when I got the all clear from DR at 4 weeks. I had LSH surgery which can allow for faster recovery so make sure you check with your DR for approval. If you don't belong to a gym that offers yoga try your local library for a DVD or check Wal-Mart or Target or even Blockbuster online has some great yoga workout videos. My advice if your starting yoga for the first time is to...listen and honor your body. Yoga is a progression. Don't expect yourself to be able to do everything right away. If a pose hurts back off and modify it. Your breath is more important that the poses. Quiet your inner self and stay focused and you'll get more benefits from the practice. Best of healing.

weight loss
I just reread your posting...you had surgery on the 6th of Aug...be patient. I "gained" 7 lbs just from the surgery and lost it within the first week. I think it was from the gas and IV fluids. I have since lost 3 and half pounds and kept them off. Remember your body went through major surgery and it will take time to heal. I am 6 weeks post-op and still feeling an occasional twinge. Being patient was hard for me but remember you only get one chance to heal properly the first time. Don't over do or you'll have a set back.
Drink plenty of water. I have given up my ocassional sodas and treat myself to an ice tea and I still drink coffee and milk. Water has become important to me.
Smiles,
Mj

Yoga Anyone???
Aunaturale,
Yeah...inner peace...somedays I feel like I think I remember what that felt like...other days I'm not so sure. Practicing yoga does help me feel balanced. It really helped me with my horrible periods that I no longer have to deal with! Focus on the positives of having had your surgery. It will help time pass. It's nice to know other yogi's are out there!

Yoga Anyone???
Oh yeah not bleeding to death....lol...seriously!! That's a positive!! I haven't gotten the results back yet though to see if I had/have cancer. My mom actually died of Uterine cancer and that was a huge reason for my hysterectomy. That and the fact that I was litterally bleeding to death....LOL...

I will pray that your paths will come back clean! I'm sorry to hear about your mom. My mom is breast cancer survivor and had a hyster too just to be safe. Did you keep your ovaries? I did and my cervix since I'm only 37 yrs. I know I'll have to still get ck-ups but I'm ok with that. When do you go for a post-op ck-up 2 weeks, or 4? Make sure and ask for copy of your paths for your records. Best of healing and think positive!
