In times of need

I went into surgery feeling very confident about my ability to bounce back quickly however the reality proved to be another story even tho my recovery is without incident and complication free.
Stumbling across this site has been wonderful in terms of support and on my down days, enables me to be grateful for my health after hearing how some of you are really struggling with your recovery. The reality of the surgery is not something that can be explained beforehand and it's only afterward when reality hits that you come down to earth and sometimes land with a thud. This site provides sensible practical answers to questions that we feel silly asking the doctor. It legitimizes what we're feeling and provides a lovely warm environment to encourage the sharing of experiences, good and not so good which help to boost us along the road to recovery.
It's just nice to know that you're all out there and that we're here for each other.
