Home after 26 hours post op!

Hi Everyone! I had my LAVH yesterday at 8:30am, they left my ovaries *yippee*
Couldn't sleep for crap in the hospital, cept when I hit the morphine pca....which was nice I noticed that my catheter was hurting me so asked it be removed at noon which the nurse did but said if I couldnt go I would need it back in....just a bit of burning and a tad of blood and that was it! My vaginal bleeding completely stopped at 8pm last night and I decided to stop the morphine too to see where I was as far as physical discomfort...stiff and sore, but Ive had cramps worse feeling! My biggest concern of "not being the same down there" were immediately dispelled after a spot check with a mirror...just some "chap lips" and we will leave it at that I told my doctor...one of the nicest people I have ever met how wonderful she is and thanked her for helping me on my way to a better life...it is truly Independence Day for me!
I dont have really bad gas problems, but I was lucky enough to be up alot yesterday just a few hours post op...makes a big difference. Have some post op coughing and holding the tummy seems automatic when that hits. My doctor did the tiny incisions, one in the belly button and the other two on each side of my "tummy" roll. Thank you so much for the great E-Cards, time for a new icepack and a Tylenol with codiene...sleeping at home is HEAVEN!!!! Hugs to the Sisters!

Welcome Home Shantress!!!!
Wow...not only home but typing on the computer already!! You must be a wonderful healer!!

Glad you hear your experience was so positive and you are feeling so good so soon.
Keep a pillow handy for your tummy when you are coughing, it helps alot.

Get lots of rest, and enjoy sleeping in your own bed tonight!
All the best!

Welcome Home Shantress. I'm so happy that your castle experience was so very positive. It is always encouraging to hear stories like yours.

Remember that you are still VERY early in your recovery. At this stage, you really should be spending more time lying down than sitting up.

Remember to rest, rest, rest, walk for recovery, drink that water and plenty of juices. Remember that sitting is an activity, an activity that puts a lot stress on your fresh stitches.

Wishing you a continuing good recovery.
