Are my ovaries working?

I had my hyster in march and I'm having what I believe to be hot flashes and a little pain in my hips I've joked with my husband that maybe my ovaries had stopped working but I'm not having sweats should I be worried?

What you're describing is very similar to what I delt with in the first 3 months after my surgery. When I called my OB/Gyn, he told me that it was very likely that my ovaries had gone on strike. He also mentionned that he was quite certain that the ovaries would go back to work once they adjusted to the surgery and to the absence of the uterus: in my case, he was right at, at about 12 weeks post-op, the ovaries were back in business.

It would really be a good idea to discuss this with your doctor: it's likely he/she will run some tests and will recommend therapy to help manage the symptoms.
