Fibromyalgia=long-lasting incision pain?

Hi Sisters-
I tried to find a thread on this topic but couldn't, so forgive me if it has already come up. I've had fibromyalgia since I was 25 (about 18 years now), and have noticed that anytime I have an injury, it hurts about 6 times as long as it would for someone without fibro. Example-I fell and bumped my forehead on the floor, got a nice goose egg, and it hurt for 3 months after, even after the goose egg was gone!

So-my incision site still hurts like a sonofagun. I had gallbladder surgery 5 months before my hyst., and those incisions still hurt too--sometimes I feel like I've been punched in the ribs and stomach. I keep thinking it should hurt less by now, but I guess I keep forgetting I have fibromyalgia! I wish I'd thought of this before I decided to have the surgery--duh and sigh. I still feel like I have swelly belly too, although it could be the feeling of pain plus abdominal weight gain.

Anyway, anyone else experience this? It is a year post-surgery, and I'd really like to start feeling better now! Ok, griping over for the moment.

I had long term incision pain. Part of it was from nerve damage, which I had some injections and than surgery for. Relief was short lived. Than I started accupuncture. While I still have other issues, my incision no longer bothers me and, bonus, you can barely even see the incision.

Accupuncture might be something for you to look into. It's really helped me alot.
