Need to vent...

3 weeks post-op and I am ready to scream. My right side is still not healed and now it is all broken out. Grrrrr, I am thinking it will never heal. I am gonna call my dr in the am. I am feeling pretty good, I am having alot of depression issues and my family is not talking to me right now. DH is not being supportive. I am so glad for this site, without this site I would have anyone to talk too. Thank you all for listening Hugs to all.

Awe, sorry to hear that you are having problems! : ( This site is awesome, isn't it?! I don't know what I would do without it, either!!!

Are you taking anything for the depression? I take Wellbutrin for smoking cessitation and depression, and it works very well for me. Perhaps you can talk to your doctor about if medication (or dosage adjustment if you are already on meds) may work for you?

Hope you are feeling better soon - let us know what the doc says about the area that is broken out!!

Hugs, sweetie ... I'm thinking of you ...

You're still very early in your recovery. Many (((sisters))) at your stage are still dealing with incision healing issues.

My incision (which, granted, was hip-to-hip, but still...) didn't close for ten full weeks after surgery. When I had my hematoma surgery a year later, it was four or five weeks for a much smaller incision -- about 8 inches.

I don't know what you mean by "broken out" -- but I'm guessing you have a rash or some chafing? It really helped me to allow the entire incision area to air-dry twice a day (after my morning shower and then again in the evening) and THEN change the bandages. I gave myself a good 45 minutes to dry! Also, use of a tummy binder meant I didn't have to use any nasty adhesive tape, which I found very irritating to my skin.

Be very gentle with yourself and take care. It will get better -- but it doesn't happen all at once.

Right there with ya, sis!

"Normal" isn't a word that generally applies to me, but let's just say you aren't alone.
