How long for this swelling and to return to dancing?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how long the swollen belly will last for. I have had a bikini incision and its quite puffy over that area. Doesn't look real good. Also, does anyone have any idea how long I might have to wait to go back to teaching bellydancing. Will I do damage? Thanks all

I'm afraid it's almost impossible to say just how long the swelly belly will last. Some lucky ladies don't experience it at all; others have it for a few weeks and others for many months, and occasionally longer. It's caused by the trauma of surgery.

The initial, vital healing takes approximately 6 weeks, with complete recovery anything from 3 months to a year.

Before returning to any activities, you must be cleared by your doctor ~ particularly anything that requires strenuous use of the abdominal muscles, which were separated during surgery.
