Bleeding at 5 weeks, when I haven't bled at all before???? Help!

I just went to the bathroom and was surprised with a stain on my unders... dark red blood, and a small clot in the toilet.

I have not had any bleeding since my TAH on the 8th... none.

Tuesday afternoon I had my internal exam, and the doc cleared me from seeing him again... told me to be sensible, etc.... so I thought all was well...

No pain anywhere - just the usual tired belly at the end of the day. I spent most of today resting, as I did work part time Tues and Wed teaching - first 2days back at work.

Do you think this is just a by product of the exam on Tues? He mashed around the belly, and all I felt was pressure, no pain. And things looked good to him?

Anyone else experience this?

Bleeding at 5 weeks, when I haven't bled at all before???? Help!

I had bleeding after my LSH starting at week 3 and lasting until about week 6 post op. I had no pain and no fever, so the dr. wasn't worried. If you think it's a lot or you have pain and fever I would call the dr. right away.

I had a friend that had a TAH and she had some bleeding at the site of the vaginal cuff that just need a little repair in the drs. office. No big deal she said.

Take care.

Bleeding at 5 weeks, when I haven't bled at all before???? Help!

When I went for my post op (at 5 weeks), my doc said everything looked great, almost completely healed. Two nights later, the exact same thing happened to me, and it freaked me out (I also hadn't had ANY bleeding, even in the hospital). I called the doctor on call, and he said something about granulation tissue turning loose, and bleeding as a result of, but nothing to worry about unless it got worse or didn't stop within a day or two. Since then, I've had a discharge ranging from washed out red, to orange to pink, and I had to wear panty liners for 4 or 5 days - now it just shows when I wipe, but it's still a concern.

About a week and a half later I went in to the OB/GYN office (this was 7 weeks post op) and was seen by a Nurse MidWife (my doc was on vacation AGAIN) and she said there was a tiny place that hadn't healed in my cuff - she literally had to dig to see it, which wasn't pleasant. But, she did nothing and said everything looked great. I guess I have to just be patient??? Anyone else with this problem???? It's starting to get really old....

Bleeding at 5 weeks, when I haven't bled at all before???? Help!

Same story here--no bleeding after surgery (and I only lost 250 cc during surgery!), and then a few days after my 6-week checkup, I started bleeding.

I called my surgeon, who said not to worry unless it really bothered me (was painful), was accompanied by fever, or continued for more than a week at a steady, heavy rate (tapering off should occur). It did last about a week and ended as suddenly as it had started.

I had a little spotting at 10 weeks and like the rest of you had none since the surgery. I called the doctor's office and talked to my nurse and she thinks I probably overdid it over the weekend. She said to call back if it kept on or got worse, but it just lasted 2 days. I'm definitely going to take it easy for a while longer!

Bleeding at 5 weeks, when I haven't bled at all before???? Help!

I liek the rest of you had absolutely NO bleeding post op. My LSH was on Aug. 21st. I had been felling fantastic until last night. I went back to work in the middle of week 3 on Wednesday and by Friday night I felt like crap. I have an office job so I thought I would be ok. This morning I woke up to pee like usual and there was bright red blood. It wasn't a lot but beign that I hadn't had any post op bleeding, I became very concerned. I called the doctor but I don't have to go to the ER since it's spotting. If it get's worse I have to callt he doctor back. I have to stay hoem all weekend now and was already told that I can't go back to work on Monday and I do have to go into the see the doctor Monday morning. He thinks I have just overdone it and went back to work too soon. I think I am going to have to stay home longer now whick sucks b/c it's SO BORING. I will post what the doc tells me on Monday.
