Bruised and home...

Got home from hospital last night. TAH on July 3, kept ovaries, and no sign of cancer. Am having alot of bruising today around my hips, buttocks, thighs, and around towards my back. This was not here last night, doctor does not seem to concerned about this. Anyone else have this problem? How long before it starts to go away??? Going to rest now. Will check in later.

Bruised and home...

Hi Nikita,

Welcome to the otherside. I fortunately didn't have bruising in your areas, mine was from all the IV's and Blood Draw. But when you say hips, buttocks and Thighs, injections come to mind. Where you getting your pain meds in those areas that you have bruising? Just a thought, I also would as the Dr for an explanation on why? Also sometimes it takes a while for the bruises to surface. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and a new IV bruise showed up last night. Can congrats on being cancer free

Now remember to Drink plenty of water, Rest,Rest and Rest and not to overdue things. And when total boredom breaks out, come visit the chatroom here and have a chat, it is a fun place to break the boredom. Not to mention to get your pre/post op questions answered faster.

Bruising

Hey Nikita,
I'm sure you're worried about the bruising, or you wouldn't have asked. If you think about how much moving, cutting, stitching, etc they did inside, it's not wonder we look like a melted box of crayolas. If your DD isn't worried, you don't be either. Just keep an eye on things and if you're not happy, make a trip to his office just to satify yourself.

Make sure you continue to rest. I'm 7 weeks post-op today and I'm still resting. I've been working on Fridays since I was 2-weeks post-op just to keep things from piling up. I'm just now working 2/3 days a week for 4/5 hours. I know I'm one of the fortunate ones and I thank the Lord every day for this job. These folks are wonderful to work with me like this.

Take care,
Tammy
