breast pain for 3 years now in left breast

hello sisters,

I had my TAH/BSO done July 27th 2004. I was put on HRT in the hosp. Climara first then switched to Estraderm 0.05mg after my 2 week check up(due to not sticking). I feel great on Estraderm BUT I have experienced pain in my left breast into the left arm, left side of neck and left shoulder/shoulder blade area. I found a lump back in 2-05 went to drs and tried the vit e and no cafe. for a whole year with no results. during that time had a ultra sound and mammogram done both negative can't find anything wrong. Meantime I can feel the lump and so can the gyno. She sends me to the breast specialist and he finds the lump and does a needle biopsy(no cancer ) and then performs a lumpectomy to remove the walnut size cyst also non cancerous . Tried Vivelle dot but made me much worse with symptoms so went back on Estraderm. ALSO I went golfing a little past my 8 week check up which my dr told me I can do everything now-normal life activities! Now I am 3 years with this stupid pain in the left breast. It will flare up every now and then. I am under a lot of stress. I started a Chiropractor 2 years ago and she is the only one who can get rid of the pain. She said it is my ribs out of place and the tendons/muscles that are being affected. She said that stress will cause the pain to be worse. Massaging the area helps but still nothing will take it away for good. I finally saw a Neuro and he sent me for a MRI on the neck. He thought it was a pinched nerve or a hernated disc. Well the results showed that I have a curvature neck which I knew already from my chrio and arthritis which I didn't know. If I use my neck a certain way and my shoulder and arm the pain is so severe that I have to use pain meds and ice pack. NOW is this due to hormones or muscle/tendon/scar tissue causing the pain??? I thought about trying progestrone cream on the left breast to see but nervous it could either make it worse or interfere with my hrt. Also I thought of using evening primrose oil but afraid again that it will interfere with my hrt. Has anybody experience this pain like this and what have you done for it to relieve the pain? Sorry that this is so long but had to give as much info as possible.
thanks so much for any help

In my opinion, it is not the hormones. You said you were under a lot of stress. Maybe you could focus on the cause and see what you could alleviate in that area. Then I would consider seeing an orthopedic specialist for another opinion. You also said that if you use your neck a certain way that it is worse. This does not sound like it is being caused by your hormone replacement. I'm glad that you had the breast lump checked out the way you did. Happy for you that it was not cancerous. Best of luck to you. Sorry I don't have a good answer for you.
