Question - Hormone questions Estrogen w/Testosterone Issues! Help!

I am 28 years old and had a total hysterectomy on August 17, 2007 due to medical issues. I have always had hormone issues and have had issues with my sex drive because of it. Since the surgery I have been taking Estratest, estrogen with testosterone, for my sex drive and noticed that I did not have any patience with anybody, even my 3 young children. That has seemed to get better in the last week or so but now my boobs are sore and my nipples are super sensitive to the point that they hurt. I'm even too sensitive "down there" which in turn doesn't make me feel like having sex, even though I want to. Does that make sense? I'm wondering if the testosterone is what is making me mad and if the dose of estrogen is too much? Has anybody else experienced this with the testosterone? Will my sex drive come back with estrogen only? I know nothing about this new stage of my life! HELP!!!

Hormone questions

Hi

A couple of things come to mind. First, it could be that your estrogen is too high, which makes my breast hurt when touched. Second though, I am wondering if you have had your testosterone levels checked. That really is the only way of knowing if your testosterone is too high or not. Many women do well using a low dose of testosterone only a couple of times a week. Some women don't need testosterone supplements at all as it is also made in the adrenal glands. Too much testosterone can cause your genitals to swell and be extra sensitive.

If it were me, I would probably start with a Dr's visit and ask to have a serum testosterone level tested. If that comes back okay, then my next move would be to try a lower dose of estrogen.

It sounds to me like you have a sex drive, but you are in just too much pain to want to see it through

Call your and let us know what he/she says.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

s,
Kay
