BHRT and vaginal itching, burning?

Had a complete hysterectomy in Nov. 2005, went immediately on the Vivelle Dot patch and did well, but sex drive was nothing so my PA switched me to BHRT cream that combo's Estrogen and Testosterone. Also she added Progesterone cream to be used 10 days per month. All of this to be used vaginally. The sex drive is up (YEA!!!!) but now am having burning and itching in the vaginal area. Thought it might be a yeast infection so treated it with Monistat. Still having problems. Wonder if anyone else has experienced this? I guess we could try applying to the thighs, wrists, etc, but do feel really good other than the annoying burning and itching. BTW, I have been on it for about 5 months now.

I would suggest that you contact your doctor to see if you have some sort of infection. It is also possible that you've developed a reaction to the cream. Or maybe the pharmacy used a different base and that is causing an issue. Have you contacted the pharmacy? That may be worth a try also.

anytime I use progesterone, I get terrible yeast infections...guess It can be known for that if your hormones aren't balanced? Good luck..
