A grueling 5 days in the Dungeon! Lol

Ok sisters I made it!!!!!
But let me tell ya....If i could call my hospital stay (a castle) I would...too bad it was more like a dungeon haha.

I got home and feel so much more at ease with things. I was scheduled to have a TAH possible BSO...when i woke up the first thing i was told is that my ovaries stayed in place!!!!!

My recovery so far has been amazing...only problems i'm having are passing gas and having BM's....my god its agony!!! And of coarse being tired, with a lack of appetite....but other wise things are not too bad.

I know i have so many questions...but i think my brain is doing laps. So once I have a moment to collect my thoughts, I will be back.

Thanks so much for being here!!! This site rocks!

glad to hear that your surgery went well.

You may want to drink froma glass rather than a straw -- from what I have read -- drinking froma straw adds to the gas. go figure -- that is what they give you in the hospital --

yes some hospitals feel like torture chambers rather then a place to recoop and gather strength.
Glad that you are home -- it will help in the healing process.

A grueling 5 days in the Dungeon! Lol

Hi-
I had my TAH on Sept 20, so I am a day ahead of you. But you sound a lot like about what I am going thru. My 1st BM (I have only had one) was pretty normal and painless. Not much pain at all, off the painkiller except at night. Kind of tired. But I am forcing myself to wear pJs all week because if I didn't, I would do too much and forget I am supposed to take it easy.

I found that taking daily walks (very short and slow at first) helped a lot with the gas. I read a tip here about using a step-stool to put your feet on when having a BM helped with the discomfort. I did this and it did help.

Sorry to hear your experience at the castle was more like a dungeon. I bet you're so happy to be home.
