estrogen too much or too little affects sleep?

I have read somewhere on this site about estrogen...
If you have trouble falling asleep is it too much estrogen and it you can't stay asleep you have too little (estradiol) is this right?
Can anyone else clear up something else for me--
estrogen is an excitatory hormone right? If you are twitchy and jumpy when you try to fall asleep could I have too much estrogen? Yet, I wake up sometimes once or twice a night and its hard to go back to sleep.
I do take a small 1/4-1/8 chunk of klonopin , would love to figure out if this is hormone related. All drs I've been to just say I"m anxious and say my hormone levels are fine. estrogen 68, progesterone 2. But i have been totally relaxed many times while my hubby is rubbing my feet or something and I will still twitch in the muscles and jerk a little. I only do this when I am trying to sleep. never anyother time. I think its hormonal. 2 years nearly close to the day after my hyster I started this. MY biggest complaint for the last year has been being able to fall asleep. I have been to an endocrin. and thought it was hyperthyroid and he said it was not. just an anxiety problem and he dismissed it. and I never went back.

estrogen too much or too little affects sleep?

Hi ((((Ann))))

I have had trouble sleeping just about all my life and it's been much, much worse since my hyst and as I'm heading into menopause, so I know how you feel.

Where I'm concerned, the main problem is falling asleep... especially if I wake up before I've had a chance to recharge my batteries

I also have issues with restless leg syndrome.. which translates in a discomfort in the feet when I'm very, very tired and trying to fall asleep: it seems that the more I try to relax, the more twitchy my feet get!!! I know that the RLS is hereditary as my mother, sister DD and DN all have it. And it seems to be increasing in intensity down the generations: while, for my mother, it's a very very mild condition, it keeps my poor little 11 yo from going to sleep and will even wake her up And while I know that it's due to a mineral issue (taking Magnesium and Calcium has really helped both my DD and myself ) I also know that there is an hormonal cause: My RLS issues started with my first pregnancy and returned with my second.

I do hope you find answers soon as it is very hard to function on just a few hours of sleep

What about using natural progesterone cream at night before bed? I've heard that is helpful. I just started it a couple nights ago. So far so good. But I didn't have RLS. Read up on it and see what you think. Talk to your Dr. about it.
