My Hysterectomy was May 2007......

I have been back to work since June 2007. I have 6 weeks off.

Pretty much I feel good. No hormonal complications (my ovaries were left) Nothing but freedom from painful periods and excessive bleeding.

My deal is I lost weight after the surgery and have put weight back on and can't seem to get the gumption to get it off.

Anyone else in my boat....My BMI is gone up and can't get back down :thumbsd

I know I need to exercise and get a better eating regimine, but it is easier said than done.

I know how you feel about trying to get weight off after surgery, it really can be difficult. I think our metabolism slows down pretty much.

You might look at our Hysteritaville forums on exercise, health, and healthy eating.

I would let my doctor know about the BP if he doesn't already know so it can be treated.

Hang in there

My Hysterectomy was May 2007......

I don't why I gained weight since the Hyst but I put on about 12 lbs overall even though the fibroid lump was almost 6. HOWEVER I am not really any bigger...the weight seems to have spread out evenly. I think that I might actually be retaining nutrients and getting better bang for my food since the operation gave me the room to digest properly. I haven't changed my eating habits at all yet I have the extra weight ...also I am more active because well...Yay no more 37 days a month periods!
