Tubal Ligation first, Hyster later

This is something that has been bothering me. I had a tubal ligation in May 2005. Two months after that, all my period problems and pain started. This led to my hyster 7 weeks ago.

I know there are some that believe in tubal ligation syndrome and their "studies" have shown increased risk for hyster after ligation.

I am very curious to see how many of you had ligations. How long after that did you get a hyster? Would you say your problems stemmed from the ligation, or you are not sure?

I am posting this because as I look at all of your signatures while reading your posts, I see so many of us had tubal ligations.

Tubal Ligation first, Hyster later

I had my tubal ligation in February of 2006. The next period I had was pretty rough, and each month, they got worse. My doctor tried a D&C and an endometrial ablation, and neither worked, so I finally ended up having a hysterectomy last month.

I definitely believe those studies, not only because of my experience, but because I've heard many women who have had tubal ligations complain about the same thing. I wonder why it happens?

Tubal Ligation first, Hyster later

I never really any problems until I had my tubal in September 2001. I got pregnant in January of 2002, then had my tubes tied (and burned) AGAIN after the baby was born in October. I had a little endo, scar tissue, adhestions - had a laparoscopy to remove and it came back. I had my LAVH in June 2007. The sad part of it, I have started having the pain in my left lower area again, just as before the surgery. I don't know whether to go back to the dr (which she said she wants to do a MRI to find out what is going on) or just learn to live with it. I had everything removed, I am almost 4 months post-op...What's going on???????

It is so nice to see someone who went through the same issues.

Tubal Ligation first, Hyster later

I had a tubal in 1998 after my son. I have always had really bad periods since day "1".... it got better with birthcontrol pills, then I had kids, then the tubal and it DID get worse from there. Tired the Ablation last year around the same time and a year later here I am with a TAH. They left both ovaries, one had a large egg sized cyst that couldn't be removed and had to be drained and the other ovary had a large lemon size cyst that they removed. I am 5 weeks post op and feel like I did before surgery. I am back in pain, stabbing throbbing pain on my right side where my ovary is and a dull weird feeling on the left where my ovary is! I was walking yesterday and they pain started and it brought me to my knees!! This is really strange stuff! BUT I RUFUSE TO LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT! IT AFFECTS ME EVERYDAY ONCE AGAIN!!!!

Good luck to everyone. Hopefull someone might figure out this stuff

i had clamps put on my tubes in 1986 because my doc said it would be more reverseable then having the tubes tied. I was 21 and was told not to have anymore children period. the reversal option was just in case a cure for my problem was found in 10 years and i could have more children how stupid was i to believe in that one. anyway 2 years later i had so much scare tissue on and around my ovaries and tubes that i could never get pregnant again it took 3 years after that for my ovaries to shut down and produce cysts instead of eggs. to say it was painful is an understatement. i waited another 15 years before i did anything about it because i was so afraid of a hyster i am now an emotional wreck but doc says this will pass i wish i would have done it years ago. some studies done a few years ago so a connection between tubials and hysters. hysters usually follow 5-10 years later

I had my tubal in Jan. 2005 and started having the problems that eventually led to my need for a hysterectomy in December of 2006.
