Depressed, angry and no sex drive
It's been almost five months since my surgery.
I have no ovaries, no uterus....and no sex drive. I wish someone had told me this would happen before I had the surgery.
What makes me so angry??? If I were a man, they would write me a prescription and the problem would be gone. Being a woman, I am going to get a whole bunch of useless psycho-babble. I am reading about herbs and different types of hormones and no one seems to have good results.
I do not have pain. I do not have dryness.
I just don't ever feel like it! I just got married May 12th. Had my surgery May 21st.
This is horrible!
I'm so depressed. I feel like I am no longer a whole woman.

Depressed, angry and no sex drive
I am sorry for all that you are going through. Yes, this surgery is hard on us physically and emotionally. I found the first year feeling not myself and not caring about much. I did go to the doctor for hormone balance and this helped a lot and in time I did get my libido back. I just take the hormone patch, but some may need other hormones, like testosterone that is compounded especially for them.
Here is a link from our Resources library:

There are alternatives, but I have not tried them. The herb Maca has helped some. I would check with local health food store on alternatives. I know our Whole Foods here where I live has alternatives to try. Everyone is different, so what does not work for them , may work for you.
I think it is important to find a doctor who will work with you with hormones and who is understanding.
Sending you lot's of s
