vaginal cuff needed trimming!

YIKES!!! Well, just needed to share. It all started at about 3-4 months post op. While having intercourse a piece of tissue was "rubbed" off and I bled!! Went to the Dr. He could see exactly where it came from and he silver nitrated the granulation. NOT pleasant. wasn't painful, just gross black "flakes" appearing in my undies....Anyway, 6 months post op and the bleeding after intercourse started again this time with A LOT of tendernes. I went back in and my dr said that a little piece of tissue had grown on a stalk from the vaginal cuff??!! The first visit he had tried to burn it off with the silver nitrate. Alas, the little piece of tissue survived. Anyway, he said "You're not gonna like this a bit!" and numbed the cuff. That was a pain unlike any other! Then he trimmed the cuff so it was smooth and silver nitrated the heck out of it. It was awful at the time, but I am glad he just did it then and there. Now everything is much better. i haven't bled since, and intercourse is much more comfortable. So...anyone out there that is having discomfort and bleeding after intercourse, go see your dr. you shouldn't have to live with it. Best wishes

vaginal cuff needed trimming!

thanks for posting. I just had 3 chunks of granulation removed the a week ago. I'd had 3 silver nitrate treatments prior and it didn't really help. This time they numbed the cuff with this hurricane spray and then removed 3 pieces of tissue and put this other stuff on it (doc said it was like super glue whereas silver nitrate is like school glue) I'm one week out today and still have alot of "coffee ground" discharge but I'm hoping this finally is going to take care of all the granulation! Thanks for providing me with hope!!
