Stage 1a ovarian cancer at 37

I had been having abdominal pain that I attributed to my menstrual cycle. I also had urinary frequency and wasn't sure why. After suffering these symptoms for several months I decided I would tell my gyn about them at my annual appt. When I had my pelvic exam my gyn was able to feel that my ovary was enlarged. One week later, I went back to him for a transvaginal ultrasound and a CA-125. The ultrasould revealed that my mass was complex and about 6cm. I followed up with a MRI and CT scan as well. They both indicated it could be malignant but also listed other possibilites. When my dr. got my CA-125 results back they were high, I was referred to a gynecologic oncologist. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy with ovaries removed and a debulking surgery which removed my omentum and many lymph nodes. I was dx with Stage 1a ovarian cancer. I am having troubles with hot flashes, insomnia, and vaginal dryness. I am very thankful to have a good prognosis and for good doctors. However, this has been and continues to be a tough journey for me.
