LAVH Tommorrow, Aunt Flo showed up today!

Hi,I'm a little concerned about this unexpected visit from Aunt FLo. I'm having LAVH in the morning and wonder if this will affect my surgery?
Also, I have had a large mass growing in my left sternomastoid muscle(neck) for about a week which is causing me great pain and discomfort, went to ER, no infections, x-ray was unconclusive, no fever, just a mass and extreme neurological symptoms (pressure headaches, tingling in head)
The ER Doc said that it shouldn't interfere with intubation, but since I don't know what it is, I am still worried about what will happen once i am asleep for surgery, was wonder if i should ask for a CATscan before surgery.

Aunt Flo is no problem. At least according to everything I've read. Don't worry about that part!

It's funny, because I started spotting - another mid-month second visit from Auntie Flo - today. I totally understand the momentary panic! Heh. but just think: this is the LAST TIME!! Wahoo!

Hi there, I am also scheduled for surgery tomorrow -- TAH w/BSO -- my period decided to come on for one last hurrah last night. Tomorrow would normally be my heavier day. I just hope that means I will not be in that much more pain seeing that everything is all swollen and working so to speak.... I thought I would eek it out but nope, the massive headache all day Saturday was my clue and sure enough.... TA DA! I had gotten my period for the first time on my 13th birthday, and now I have it on the day it's all coming out - always has to show up on those special days - 13th birthday - my wedding night - and now tomorrow! At least I won't have to worry anymore!!

I know what you're saying about Flo!

She decided to visit me today and my surgery is scheduled for Thursday.

Funny thing is, if they can't do this operation while Aunt Flo is visiting me, they'll NEVER get it done as she has pretty-much moved in and is the visitor that just won't leave!

I did read that having a cycle is no problem for the surgery.

No, I hear they will still go ahead and do the surgery. I'm just curious if it means any extra precautions need to be taken or if you tend to experience anything out of the ordinary. I just guess when it's gone, it's gone! I know my mother had her operation about 30 years ago and she was flowing so bad and loosing weight they took her for surgery the week after her Dr. appt. Back then they kept you in for a week - now your lucky to make it 48 hours and out - although I'd much rather recoup at home!
