I'm almost 5 weeks out and I really need to change my name. I'm no longer Iwant2bpainfree because Iampainfree.

I did great during my surgery and continue to get better every single hour! It is the best thing I have done for myself!

I just posted my hyster-story on that board so I encourage you all to pop in and read it.

I want to encourage all of you to listen to your body even if the test & doctors tell you there is no reason for your pain! My ultrasound showed a normal uterus and the cause of my pain was transparent! The doctor was encouraging me to try the uterine ablation with a 50/50 chance of it helping my pain! But after the surgery my doctor admitted he & the ultrasound was wrong. I had and enlarged uterus with multiple intramural fibroids tucked away inside the walls of my uterus. Doctor said it was spongy like jell-o when he lifted it out! So ladies listen to your body and push for what you want done!

Ultrasounds can provide the dr with a lot of information, but, as you say, they're not always right. They knew my uterine mass was big but, when they did the TAH, it was bigger than they'd expected and the mass was more involved than they thought.

I agree that the TAH was the best thing I've done for myself. I wish I'd done it sooner.
