Will dress clothes be ok in 6 wks?
I'm just thinking of this (you have a LOT of time to analyze, waiting 3 months) but will I be able to wear my business attire back to work in 6 weeks after my TAH? I am talking dress slacks, dress shirt etc? Gosh, I hadn't thought that I might not be able to dress up yet. Anyone?

Will dress clothes be ok in 6 wks?
I went back to work at almost 7 weeks and could wear all the clothes I usually wear to work. The only things that were uncomfortable for me were bikini panties and jeans, but I can wear those now.

Will dress clothes be ok in 6 wks?
Hi...I had an LSH 8 weeks ago today..I swear I still have a little swelly belly....I find my jeans not comfortable at all...my dress pants fit differently..to snug near closure and I am usually smaller waisted..so I went out and bought 2 new pair next size up and a new pair of stretch jeans another size up also....paired them with different shirts/sweaters/jackets and no one knows I wear the same pants over and over I am comfortable with the bigger size for now, nice trade for not having to deal with the periods and pain that lasted for weeks at a time...figured when I can start excersising somewhat regularly again my "figure" may come back...right now I find I still tire too easily to do any real type of excersise....good luck...everyone is different and many women have no problem fitting back into their clothes alot faster than I....hopefully you will be one of them...but wait and see until you are close to going back to work...don't drive yourself crazy trying on your pants the first few weeks..I also noticed that I would fit in pants early in the morning and find as the day wore on they would grow tighter!!!

Will dress clothes be ok in 6 wks?
Very good question. Something I really didn't take in to consideration before the procedure.
I hit 4 weeks yesterday and I cannot imagine sitting in pants with a waistband all day. I have worn jeans and dress pants but within a few hours I am uncomfortable and take them off.
I am seriously hoping I can wear "real pants" when I go back work in 2 weeks. My belly does swell some by the end of the day.
If I go up a size in pants they are hanging on me - I guess if it doesn't change I'll be buying some cheapo elastic pants to get me through.

I also found that, and don't laugh, but I bought a pair of maternity pants, not the kind with the belly panel, but the kind that just has 2 elastic sections at both sides of your waist...they were a little low rise, cargo style and no one ever knew they were maternity

Will dress clothes be ok in 6 wks?
I just bought my daughter some slacks at Bon Worth. They are a poly blend and have full elastic waists. She has to wear a scoliosis brace all the time and it is a pain to find pants to fit over it and look decent.
I'm having an LAVH next week and have wondered if my clothes will fit after as well. It sounds like there isn't as much swelling with the LAVH as a TAH. Guess I'll wait and find out (like I really have a choice!).

I thought so with my surgery also..I had the robotic, laporospic surgery..four little one inch incisions in my abdomen...no vaginal entry at all.....I had major swelly belly and swear I still have some by mid afternoon at 8 weeks post....but everyone if different, so I will be curious as to whether your type of surgery will cause less trauma to the belly region than mine, it would make sense that it wouldn't be as traumatic to the abdomen...how many incisions with the vaginal assist?

The doc said it's 3 small incisions and everythings out vaginally. My husband had a hernia repair laproscopically last year (3 cuts as well) and he didn't seem to have a problem with pants fitting afterward. Of course that's men for you!

Will dress clothes be ok in 6 wks?
Oh my gosh, thanks for this post ~ I'm so amazed, I never would have thought that 8 weeks post op I wouldn't be able to wear my clothes!
I bought some "cute" sweats that I can wear with sweaters and "dress up" a little - they have drawstrings at the ankles and cute pockets on the legs. I just didn't think I would need them for so long post op! I'm having the DaVinci robotic Laparascopic surgery myself.....
Thanks again.

Will dress clothes be ok in 6 wks?
I have a little swelly belly in later after noon -I go back to work next week - but figure by the time I get off work -- will be time for maybe a quick recovery nap -- before supper and then off to bed --
I can wear my regular jeans and dress clothes now with no problems --
figure I have either a pair of sweats or hospital scrubs to put on as soon as I get off work.
