3 months post-op/Scar hurts and swollen

I had my hysterectomy and its been three months... my scar hurts and is still swollen right above it... is this a normal occurence this late after surgery? I have been going to the gym but limiting certain things as that area is still very sore and tender... any one have any suggestions on this????? Other than that I am doing well...tired at the end of the day, but no real complications.

For me sex drive got beter ( but i lost the chroinc pain and bleeding) .. and for weight i gained weight but i had complications but you can walk after surgery and the drs usualy suggest walking it will help keep the bowels and stuff going good too. walking daily should help you manage the weight beter.
good luck
hugs

Can't offer you any advice unfortunately, but I can tell you that I'm in a similar situation, coming up 12 weeks and sore, sensitive belly - have posted elsewhere.

Hopefully it's quite normal and we've just been overdoing things a bit!

Hope you're feeling better soon

Hi Leslie

I am also three months post op and still can't get most of my trousers on due to the swollen belly. It is still tender and numb in places and I do get the odd twinge in the muscles if I lift anything a bit heavy. I assume that it takes a few months to completly recover.

well I know the feeling...Also I returned to the gym about 2 weeks ago and think that the weights I do may be contributing. My doctor assured me that I could safely go to the gym... However I am having intense burning at the incision site and tingling and the numbness is still there... but yes maybe you are right and more time is what we both need...
