Question - Post Hyst 4 years now Ovarian cysts help!! Post Hyst 4 years now Ovarian cysts help!!

Will try to keep this short, although it spans roughly 10 months. Started with cyst pain called Dr. got pain meds. Told NP if I could deal with pain if they would get through when cysts popped up. She agreed. Cysts keep popping up every month indiscriminate which side. Had supracerivcal hyst 11-2003. Left both ovaries, tubes, cervical stump and come to find out from US tech bottom of Uterus itself. Anyway after many US's, BCP-nuvaring, argument with doctor that I know know my body and know when the cysts are present therefore know the pain is caused by them he agreed to do cystectomy. Did 3 poke holes on right side one on left side and drained all fluid. During next two weeks I was still in pain and felt cysts return. He told me I probably had a kidney stone we needed to do kidney US. I agreed to prove him wrong after doing pelvic US and finding another ovarian cyst measuring 23x29mm. Which he claimed couldn't be there until he saw in black and white. Kidney US was of course negative. He NEVER contacted me again with results or checked on me or anything. I have gone else where, new DR. has given me 5 shots of Zoladex(similar to Lupron) am still having pain. Had US Tuesday and had small right cyst and free fluid in cul-de-sac which tech assumed was from left side where I had just been having really bad pain prior weekend. Here's my question- should I just give up and have Ovaries removed? I don't know what to do and am tired of being in pain all the time. I mad at my body for rebelling against me. I thought I took care of bleeding problem and all problems with HYST in 2003 and now this is going on. I really just want to curl into a ball and cry!!! Anyone have any other suggestions? My new DR is wonderful and willing to do whatever I want, even removing one now and seeing if that helps. I just need some feedback from someone or some people who have been there. I don't want to make this decision alone. I am only 37 and don't want to be in menopause yet, unless it is the best thing for me.
Sorry, this rambles, my DH listens like an angel, but when you don't have female insides you can't really relate and when you haven't been through the problem it doesn't really affect you the same. Thanks for any thoughts any one has!!!

echo1, it is hard to tell you what to do, what is good for me may not be good for you. I think the best thing to do is educate yourself, there are some really good articles and links in resources that are helpful. You may want to do some reading in the hormone jungle on HRT. It can be hard to find the right balance, some ladies are lucky and have no problems and some of us are still looking. I think you need to make sure that you have a dr who will work closely with you on the hormone issue if you have both of your ovaries removed. Learn all you can, that is a big decision you will have to live with for the rest of your life. Keep us posted and if you have any more questions let us know.
Best wishes and lots of 's,
Carol

Hi echo1, I was recently diagnosed with ovarian cysts. My dr. put me on birth control pills. It hasn't been a full week yet, so I don't know how well this will work. Did your dr say anything about that? My I had hys about a 1 &1/2 years ago, for prolapsed uterus. No ovarian pain at all till about 1 month ago- thought I was gonna die it hurt so bad. Dr. thinks this will prevent me getting cysts. Maybe it could help you, too. Good Luck.
