5 weeks post op....whats goin on?

Hey all!

I'm just thrilled with everything. I'm 5 weeks post op...and feel as though the worst is over! No more pain, or discomfort. Most of my worries have vanished, and my energy levels are so high. For the last 4 years I've been so lethargic and just blah...since the surgery my energy is soring (maybe due to hormones right now) but i sure hope it sticks around for a while.
I am guessing that due to my energy this could be why the weight is just falling off! I was never big to begin with (but never seemed to be able to get rid of the Pregnancy weight) my son is now 4. Since the surgery I've dropped nearly 15lbs....and I'm looking almost better than pre pregnancy! YAY
My DR mentioned that with all the endo and other complications..my hormones were not producing enough to allow me to lose weight. Its all gibberish to me...but hey I sure do love the end results!
Anyone else having the success that I am feeling? was cleared for sex (fabulous-although a bit tender) weight loss-hooray! and energy like Im a teenager again-double yay
HAHA anyways, I'd love the hear from ladies who had their surgeries in the late sept mark!

Talk soon,

Jules

I feel good too! I am five weeks as of today. The swelly and very tender belly has me down a bit but I know once I get back in my regular routine I won't be thinking/obsessing about it nearly as much I am now.

My heartburn/indigestion has gone.
I don't pee nearly as often now
I can sleep on my belly comfortably - kinda of side/belly sleep
My feet would swell by the end of the day and that hasn't happened
I haven't needed my inhaler for asthma nearly as often - my lungs have more room as well as the other organs.
I have lost 8 pounds (no matter what the evil scale at the doctor's office says!)

Those are the positives I have noticed so far!

My doctor must get their scales from the same evil place! LOL

Great to hear you are all doing so well

I too feel absolutely fabulous. I keep thinking "when will this euphoria end...it must be too good to be true" I have lost 14 pounds since surgery, my legs don't swell up, I don't bloat every night (previously I could gain 7-10 pounds easily through bloating!! ), no more achy limbs, no more lethargy and as for the big "O"...well...OMG, every time I think about it, I can't help smiling...so intense, I could go on, but I will spare everyone!!!

I only wish everyone had the same experience.

I'm also 5 wks post-op, I go next Tuesday for my 6wks check up. Overall I feel good but I find my swelly belly still increases as the day goes on, I if I do too much my back gets very sore. The worse thing I'm still trying to overcome is the no sleeping. The first 2wks I slept great but the last 3wks have been very poor. I've tried different natural products and yesterday I've bought 2 different products so I'm hoping something will help otherwise I'm going to ask the dr for something. I'm suppost to go back to work in 2wks (I'm a nurse who works in the community) and I can't imagine seeing the usual 10-11 patients as before with very little sleep.

Yeah, I feel good after 5 weeks too! I can walk at my normal pace too. Granted not as long as I don't have enough stamina quite. It's nice to walk at a normal pace and being able to cook some. It is great!! Woo Hoo!

I am so glad you guys posted. I feel so bad reading the posts from the gals who aren't doing as well. I too feel like a teenager again- that's really the last time I remember having this much energy and having such an elevated mood. Gosh- I've guess I've been a real biddy for the last 15 years or so. If I had know years ago that I would feel this great from this surgery- I would've skipped the tubaligation and uterine ablation and signed up for a hysterectomy (Bye-bye ovaries, too). I truly wish everyone had the luck we're having!! Too soon for me to have sex- but I'm more than ready to get the go-ahead from the doctor!!! Staci
