How long to stay on hrt?

Hi, I had a hyster back in 2002 (everything out)...I've been on bio-identical hormones for 4 1/2 years now....does anyone know how long it is recommended to stay on these? When I forget to take them I notice a lot of trouble with sweating more, heart racing, etc....so I'm not eager to get off them.

Just wondering.....

I've been on hrt for over 8 years now. I do have my annual exams, to include mammogram and bloodwork. As long as everything checks out okay, doc says I can continue with the hrt. There really isn't a one size fits all answer to the question. You should discuss with your doctor who knows you best and knows your medical history.

Hi. I've been on HRT for nearly 12 years since my TVH/BSO. Will stay on them as long as I feel the need. Keep up with the annuals and mammograms. I'm going on 54 and feel pretty great. Good luck! Gal.
