Starting to feel real now...

3-1/2 weeks left, and the hospital just called to do my pre-registration and schedule me for my anesthesiology consult. Still have to get through my endo biopsy next Wednesday. Then it's just up to insurance & the pre-auth... and my pre-op & the anesthesia consult on 11/28.

Ok, maybe I'm starting to get a little bit anxious now.

Starting to feel real now...

iluv2digiscrap,

Take a deep breath...slowly. Now, exhale...slowly.

The reality hit me early this week, and for now, my anxiety has passed . I'm pretty sure that this is a roller coaster ride for most people. I would assume that's why they all say that waiting is the hardest part of the hyst.

ttyl!

Starting to feel real now...

Your emotions will vary day-to-day until your surgery. The biopsy wasn't that bad. It felt like a bad cramp when she did it, so be sure to take some Motrin or other pain reliever prior to the procedure. I also needed a maxi pad afterward. She said there would be some spotting (like after a pap), but mine was pretty heavy--probably due to my fibroids.

Keep your chin up and remember there is always someone here to listen.

Starting to feel real now...

I was the most anxious and scared and crazy right after I found out I would be having a TAH/ovary going to. I found out Tuesday the October 30th. I was already scheduled for pelvic floor repairs and we just added the hysterectomy. Today I am ok with it, except that I am starting for feel a cold coming on. I imagine as the day approaches I might start to get anxious again. My doctor has called in some anxiety meds for me for after surgery. Suppose to help keep me knocked out for the days following the surgery.

Good luck and just keep your eye on the prize and take nice deep breathes when you feel anxious. This message board is a great source of support and information. But keep in mind that there are a lot of negative outcomes posted, this said most women go on to have a fine outcome with no problems. And most of those woman who have already had their hysterecomies are not searching for support. So bad outcomes are not the rule. I had to tell ya that because the message boards actually scared me the first few days I was reading them.
