I'm new to this site and I had some questions about the air bubbles. I've seen many posts about this issue, but none recently. I'm 33 years old and had a TVH at the age of 21 due to uterine prolapse. They removed my ovaries during subsequent procedures. I've had this issue since my original surgeries but in the past couple of years it seems to have worsened. It's not painful but the constant adjusting to get it to "pop" out is aggravating to say the least. Especially when no matter what you do it doesn't go away. After several visits to specialists, I still have no answers or solutions. Is there any new information out there?
The Dr.s I've seen also looked at me like I was making this up!
Thank you for this wonderful site!
I posted to wrong board earlier sorry.
Ahhh...the bubbles. Yes, my urologist looked at me like I had rocks in my head and said he had never heard of this. However, he was concerned about it enough to do a scope to make sure I did not have a fistula. Everything checked out fine.
Once I found this site and started reading about others who are experiencing the same thing, I want to go back to him and say, “See, it is not all in my mind, lots of others are experiencing the same thing. Go out there and read…do some research, you should know about this...” Seriously, I think I’ll mention this site to him when I go back for my six-month check up.
As for why the bubbles occur, I have no clue. I do know that they are erratic. I have them for several days (or weeks, I stopped counting) in a row and then nothing for a while. I should probably try to track to see if they cycle around the times that I think my hormones are out of whack, or if I am not feeling well, etc. They are not uncomfortable, just unnerving, because everytime I feel a bubble, I hold my breath waiting for leakage to follow. So far no leaking, but I can’t stop worrying about it, you know?
When you say "air bubbles" are you talking about actual bubbles in the urine you deposit in the toilet? I have had this going on for four years, even before my TAH/BSO. Sometimes I will go days without it, then they are right back there! They disappear if I don't flush right away. Anyway, just wondering!
I googledmy key words as it felt like a bubble and in my urethra. I have not had any sort of operation and my only child is 5. This sensation started a couple months ago and usually is at night and wakes me up. I was wondering if I should see my oby/gyn or what.....
