Estroven

Hi!

I am 2 yrs out from a TAH due to cancer. I have had painful internals and PAP's since surgery. Since I am not in a relationship my doc recommended the vaginal dilators. They are fine but I need relief from vaginal dryness. I will not take HRT because of the cancer. Has anybody use Estroven for vaginal dryness? If so, did it help?

Any other remedies would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tracy

Estroven

I used Estrace cream. It's an estrogen vaginal cream that I used every night until the terrible dryness was fixed, then I use a maintenance dose twice a week. It sounds like you have to be very careful about any HRT and probably don't want to use an estrogen cream. So, I've heard that vaginal lubrication lotion may help. There is brand people like called Astroglide. I haven't used it. Maybe you can ask your doctor about it. I hope you feel better and get some relief. I was embarrassed to ask my doctor about this issue when the dryness first happened because she always scoffs at my symptoms (she is in her early forties and hasn't gone through what we've been through). It was my primary care doctor who saved me and told me about using the cream every night until the symptoms went away. My gynecologist had told me to use it twice a week but that only works as a maintenance dose for me. Anyway, Astroglide?
