My cure for fleas in the house
I started doing this back in 1984 when I had a horrible flea problem in my home over 20 years ago. I had 2 indoor cats and my 2 dogs were in and out door dogs, so I did get fleas in the house it was terrible. TOTALLY by accident in desperation to get rid of flying bugs in my house one summer day, I took my small bug zapper from my back patio and put it in the house, now I didnt have a place to "hang" it so I put it in a corner on the floor for a few hours till I could get something to hang it up with. TO MY SURPRISE, I started hearing little "zits, zits, zits" I was freaking out, there were fleas hoping to the light and getting zapped!!! From that moment on I always kept a small 3000 area coverage zapper in the corner in my home during peak flea season. Vacuum up really well to get the eggs up from the carpet but with in no time you will find NO MORE FLEAS!! The fleas actually go to the light through the night to get warm it actually worked for the entire home.. ONE NOTE...... if you have small kids you shouldn't use it, and I had to use common sense over the years, at times I put it under an upside down laundry basket back in a corner behind furniture to keep nosey kitties and doggie away from it. If you try it please use common sense, don't let your doggies use is as a potty that wouldn't be good, keep it away behind a corner table or some place the kids, and animals cant get to but the light shines enough to attract the fleas. ITS GREAT!! again its been over 20 years for me using this, I moved to a place where I actually have no fleas now, I am down to indoor cats they never go out. BUT If I had a problem I would get out my bug zapper again!!! They sell for about 15-25 bucks at a home depot, Lowe's, and such.. the 15 watt one is fine for up to 3000 sq feet. The bulb can be replaced if it burns out don't need to buy a new system.. PLUS nice tip too, I use Vaseline around my pet bowls about 1" from the bottom so the scout ants cant climb in to tell the worker ants hey comeon FOOD!!! Just make sure the bowl is NOT against the wall or they will just use the wall to climb in.. these few things can help make you and your pets life easier!! I even used the Vaseline around my bird cage leges and my guinea pig cage when ants tried to get their fruit and water! Even Vaselined around trash cans, or flower pots to keep out ants, it has so many uses. I hope this helps someone and some animals... I am letting you all know what I did to keep fleas out of my house. If you do try it be responsible with this info. I think in cat or dog rescue while the animals are in cages, it worked to great too..

My cure for fleas in the house
Thanks for the hints.
I've had a terrible time with fleas over the years. What really helps me is a "flea trap". It's a small yellow light that shines over sticky paper that also has a flea killer on it. Boy does it catch the fleas! I put it out when the fleas begin and don't turn it off until the breeding season is over
I'd like another one or two but haven't had any luck finding them. It's made by Raid.

yeah I have seen the flea traps when they came out years ago, I though hey, they stole my idea!! hee hee ... Its a take off on the bug zapper idea in a mini version. I think I remember the flea trap light is only 1/4 watt compared to the 15 watt zapper, the zapper can "call" fleas from all over the house! I did a search on the raid website, looks like they are not on there anymore.. wonder why? Good luck getting them under control..

Thank you so much for the flea information. I have 5 cats and they are already beginning to scratch. What a lifesaver you are.

Your welcome!! GOOD LUCK!! dont forget the new advantage works great too, if they are outdoor indoor cats, best to use both drops and bug zapper..

I like the Frontline spray. Works like the Advantage but cheaper. You use so many sprays according to the weight/size of your pet. Works on dogs too. Smells good too. Kills them as they land and feed on your pet.
